Paul Sek-Bin Hsieh and I were married at 12 noon on May 9th, 1999 in La Jolla, California.
Both the ceremony and reception took place at the La Jolla Woman's Club in downtown La Jolla, just a block from the Pacific Ocean. Thankfully, May 9th turned out to be a warm and sunny day, so the ceremony was held outside in the garden, among all of the lovely flowers and greenery.
Our friends Cliff and Alexa Brett served as our attendants; their son Zachary was the ringbearer. A friend of Paul's from work, John Hauschild, performed the ceremony.
Both Paul and myself wanted to have a small wedding, so we only invited immediate family and a few San Diego friends. The small gathering of only 23 people made for a delightfully intimate and enjoyable day.
A bit to my surprise, everything went smoothly with the wedding. I only had three months to plan the wedding, as Paul and I got engaged in early February. But everything turned out perfectly! The sun was shining, the music (recorder and harpsichord) was beautiful, the food was absolutely delicious, and the flower arrangements were stunning. It was a wonderful day!
