That does raise a valid point. People see "miracles" in just about anything, which in this case debases the extraordinary efforts of a well-trained pilot and the orderly actions of the people on the plane. Did God (or whomever) intend for those birds to fly into the engine? If so, for what? So he could show his power?

The same thing happens whenever there is a plane crash or natural disaster of some sort that kills a lot of people but leaves survivors. Invariably, I hear news reports about the survivors or family members thanking God or calling it a miracle that they survived. I never understood this. Oddly enough, even one of my religion teachers in Catholic high school had the same sentiment.
