Woo Vegas! Too bad Vegas and Florida in the middle summer are both really really hot.

I was in Las Vegas in July a few years ago. WOW. Never felt heat like that. Walking across the street was an adventure in dehydration. Took a trip to the Hoover Dam where it was 120 degrees. But it DRY HEAT!!! Yeah, right.

I'm delighted that ARI/OCON is planning out so far in advance. Major progress! A great sign for the future!

But how many more decades must I (and some well-known Objectivists) wait until there is a conference in Philadelphia (or environs such as Valley Forge)? What is it now, about 25 conferences over the years? Earlier conference organizers have told me it is simply too expensive, but I've never thought of Boston as an economy destination, and I suspect Vegas isn't either, even in summer. It's not as if a 501(c)(3) non-profit needs to turn a profit. Come on, OCON! Try it, you'll like it!

And be sure to get John Ridpath to come. If he needed to choke back tears in Williamsburg and Jamestown, I'd expect him to bawl like a baby at Independence Hall. ;-)
