The Illogic Behind Intelligent Design

By Paul Hsieh @ 12:36 AM

In this excellent short essay, "Does God Have Back Problems Too?", David Barash points out a number of quirks of the human body that would never have been incorporated by any semi-competent engineer. This provides a nice counterpoint to the so-called Intelligent Design position, or any of the older variants such as the Watchmaker Argument.

(BTW, if anyone wants to learn more about the deceptive scientific and political strategies used by advocates of "intelligent design", they should listen to Keith Lockitch's talk on this topic. It will almost certainly be available for sale soon from the Ayn Rand Institute after the 2005 conferences is over.)
